Balcony remodel moving swiftly
Dan Porter, Jeff Stewart, Mel Dubbins, Tom Ward, Bob Bonner, Micah Stewart, Dave Merrill and others have been working quickly on the balcony remodel. While it won’t be finished by this Sunday, it will be in a usable state. The new balcony barrier will improve sight lines and help with the acoustics of the room.
Let’s Help Jane Get Her Habitat for Humanity Sweat Equity Hours

Recently Jane Robison, a Bethel member, was selected to be a homeowner for Habitat for Humanity. This is a wonderful blessing for her and her family!
At Bethel, Jane can often be seen serving in the library and also serves as the CrossWalk Outreach Director. She created the “Helping Hands” ministry for singles to reach out to singles in need. Jane and her family have been involved in almost every project CrossWalk takes on and this is an opportunity to give back to her so she can get her home.
Since Jane is a single mother the Habitat board has agreed that Bethel groups are allowed to help her put in 250 of her 500 “sweat equity” hours required for her to be able to get her home.
The following are ways that we can help donate hours:
- Quilting Day: May 22nd – Saturday 8:00am -4:00pm Bethel Activity Center basement
Come join the Bethel Quilters on this special “Quilting Day”. We have around 15 quilts that need to be tied. These quilts will eventually be given to Habitat for Humanity recipients. On May 22nd, all of our individual hours will be combined and given to Jane Robison toward her sweat equity hours. If you have never tied a quilt, they will teach you (even men). There is no pre-registration. Just show up and sign in. Stay as long as you can. For more information contact Cindy Simmons: 946-3903 shindei2@aol.com - Work in the Habitat for Humanity ReStore
There is lots of work in the ReStore. Specifically, we’re needing help with pickup and deliveries, pricing, marketing, and especially … someone with a flair for display and store design layout. http://www.habitatbuilds.com/restore/ - Construction projects
Theresa Richardson let us know that there are five construction projects under way in different stages. Contact Suzanne Carroll at the email address below for more information.

Daylight Saving Time Begins This Weekend

Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead one hour on Saturday night so you can be on time to church on Sunday.
Got a question about Revelation?

This Sunday, Pastor Dave will preach a REVIEW OF REVELATION. We suspect you have a question or two about the teaching so far, so here’s what we’re going to do…
After the sermon this week, you can send a question about Revelation to Pastor Dave. We’ll compile the questions and in two weeks, Dave will use the sermon time to answer the top questions. Here’s how you can send a question in:
- Text it in on your cell phone to 509-713-ASK1 (2751)
- Submit the question via the comment form on this blog
- Email it to Joanne Lueck
- Write it on your weekly comment card this Sunday
Happy asking!
