“Learn to do good;
Seek justice, Reprove the ruthless,
Defend the orphan, Plead for the widow.”
Isaiah 1:17

Great things are happening in the FREED ministry at Bethel Church! A Community Justice Assessment (CJA) team is being formed to do research assessing the needs in our immediate area regarding injustice.

™A thorough data-driven process designed to discover issues of injustice in your community and targeted opportunities for ministry engagement

ØUnderstand what, why, how, when, where, and to whom and by whom injustice is occurring in your community

ØIdentify existing services and organizations striving to address those issues and the gaps

ØCreate a baseline of knowledge, educate others, and identify options for partnership

ØDiscover the existing strengths in your church, your interests and abilities, and how you can best minister to those suffering

Some of the goals of the CJA team:

•Gather demographics, statistics, and trends (who, what, where, and why)

•Determine who is focused where with what solutions

•Identify gaps and where Bethel might fit

•Target Bethel’s God-given talents, abilities, and resources most effectively to address this situation in the local community

Here are some ways you can get involved right now:
1. Pray – Pray for the CJA team through the research phase for wisdom, discernment, compassion, a heart for justice, and the desire to uphold the gospel. Pray for the victims of this violent oppression and their perpetrators. Pray for the organizations that are actively seeking to end injustice and promote the gospel. Pray that the Lord would begin to stir your heart in a way that you can serve in this ministry of justice.

2. Join the SOLD team. Make a difference that impacts victims of human trafficking around the world – and do it right here in the Northwest! Download an application packet and position descriptions.

December’s passage is Hebrews 1:3-5

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs. For to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father”?

Keep the faith. Don’t lose hope. You will soon be free. You have angels looking for you, and one watching to keep you alive.

The free that care and act are the answered prayer to those in bondage.

It is hard, yes I know. But just hang in there for help is close.

May you pray to God for help, he is always with you.
