1st-3rd Grades
The purpose of our program is to introduce children to Jesus and cultivate a relationship with Him. This is achieved thru a variety of fun and creative lessons, activities and events.
Small Group
Each child is in a Sunday small group. Activities are designed to reinforce the week’s Bible story, build relationships and help the children Discover Jesus. The activities include fun games and crafts, Bible reading, scripture memorization, prayer journals and prayer time.
Large Group
Each Sunday presenters teach the Bible lesson in a fun, animated and exciting way. Large group includes child participation, stage props, and sounds effects. After the presentation the children get the opportunity to respond in a time of singing worship.
Curriculum
Teaches Biblical truth in both large and small group settings. Based on virtues from Scripture, taught through Large Group Bible Lessons and Small Group Activities. Resources are provided for parents to use at home.
You can check out the curriculum at www.252basics.com in the preview section.
God Time Cards
Four weekly devotions to focus kid’s attention on the month’s virtue, spending time reading the Bible, and talking to God at home. They are designed for older kids to do on their own, and for younger kids to do with their parents.
Refrigerator Door
A weekly resource for parents that give them the virtue, memory verse, Bible story, and bottom line (key concept for the week).
Coordinator: Amy Thornton
4th-5th Grades
Our mornings begin with a team of presenters sharing a lesson from this curriculum in the Discovery Auditorium. Then we break into small groups for discussion and activities focused on the lesson.
Small Groups
Each small group has a leader who guides the discussion and helps with any questions.
The small groups remain together through the school year so the children get to know each other and their leader. We finish up our time each week with music and worship, led by our awesome music team.
4th and 5th Grade Fun Flings
The 4th & 5th Graders are invited to come to fun flings. These are activities designed especially for them to have fun, get to know each other better, and invite their unchurched and unconnected friends to a church activity. Some of the activities include: bunco, overnight at the church, The Amazing Race, Rollerskating, and more. Contact Alyssa Thornton for more information. 10-11 participation agreement form
Baptism Class
Two times a year, we offer a baptism class designed especially for 2nd-5th graders. The class includes hands-on activities, games, homework, and great discussion and teaching on the fundamentals of discipleship. The class is typically offered in October and May. Watch for notification in the bulletin or Crossroads Newsletter.
